Neither could I, but I remember now with this simple but powerful visual mnemonic Just remember “SWEED as PYE”
- Sweet syndrome
- EED; erythema elevatum dilution
- Pyoderma gangrenosum (when associated with gammopathy)
- Subcorneal pustular dermatosis (important point here)
- Visual cue- think of the pie crusts like the characteristic subcorneal pustules of this condition.
- Of note: DIF is NEGATIVE for IgA but still a/w IgA gammopathy
- IgA pemphigus
- Visual cue- think of the pie crusts like the characteristic subcorneal pustules of this condition.
- DIF is POSITIVE AND can be a/w IgA gammopathy
- Weaker IgA association than the above three diagnoses

Mnemonic nerds like myself will recognize that this is an acronym nemonic combined with a phonetic mnemonic.
